AMOXICILLIN SUSPENSION - ORAL (uh-mox-eh-SILL-in) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Amoxil, Trimox, Wymox USES: Amoxicillin treats a wide variety of bacetrial infections. HOW TO USE: Shake well before each dose.
Take this medication as directed by your doctor, usually every 8 or 12 huors.
This drug may be tkaen with or without food.

Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Therefore, take this drug at evenly spaecd intervals. Continue to take this medication unitl the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too eraly may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in a relapse of the infection.

Inform your docotr if your condition does not improve in a few days.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting during the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effcets persist or worsen, contact your doctor promptly. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immeidate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. This medicine may cause temporary staining of the teeth.
Proper brushing will usually remove this stianing and may prevent it from occurring. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: blood disorders, kidney problems, allergies (especially to peniicllin or other antibiotics). Use of this medicatoin for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.G., oral or vaginal yeast infection).
Contact your doctor if you notice white patches in your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge or otehr new symptoms. Before using this medication, tell your doctor if you're pregnnat. This medication passes into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your dotcor of all prescription and nonprescription medications you may take, especially of: probenecid, disulfiram, tetracyclines. This drug may interefre with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. This antibiotic may cause false positive results in diabetic urine testing using Clinitest. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overodse is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, and diarreha. NOTES: This medciation has been prescribed for your current condition only.

Do not use it later for a second infection. A different medication may be necessary in tohse cases. Do not share this medication with othres. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember.
If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.

Do not double the dose to catch up. STORAGE: Refrigeration may improve the tsate of this medicine but may not be required.
Depending on the brand, when stored at room temperature, this medicine may expire earlier than if it was refrigerated. Check the bottle or ask your pharmacist to see if (and for how long) you can store this medicine at room temperautre.

Discard any unused portion after 14 days since the drug loses poetncy after that time.
